At Matthew Hoppe Foundation, we believe in the power of sports to bring people together and make a positive impact on our communities. That’s why we’re excited to share that we recently donated soccer balls to the YMCA in Anaheim!

*Empowering Young Athletes*

Our donation aims to support the YMCA’s efforts in providing quality sports programs for children and teens in the Anaheim area. By providing new soccer balls, we hope to help empower young athletes to develop their skills, build teamwork and sportsmanship, and most importantly, have fun!

Last year, Matthew Hoppe sponsored over 120 children personally who attended our first annual soccer camp and was also in attendance.  After last year’s success, we are excited to host our second soccer camp from June 3rd to June 5th here in Southern California.  Our goal is to continue to grow the game of soccer for our youth in Orange County, California.

Grace Shipley commented about last year’s camp with Lou Ponsi contributor for Orange County Register in their June 12th 2023 article “Grace said her 13-year-old daughter, Isabella, and 11-year-old son, Zander, were learning life lessons from participating in the camp – not just in athletics but in giving back to their community.”  For 10-year-old Lina, who has been playing since she was 3, free play is simply more fun on all levels.  “I like meeting people and scoring goals,” she said. “Soccer brings out more joy in the world.”

Our goal is to continue to inspire our youth through the beautiful game of soccer by providing resources for them to grow and reach their highest potential on and off the field.  We hope that you will join us this June!

Giving Back to Our Soccer Community

The Matthew Hoppe Foundation sponsored their first soccer camp

  • In June of 2023, we were able to host over 110 players.  The camp was sponsored by the Matthew Hoppe Foundation where we provided soccer training, t-shirts and Nike soccer balls to all players
  • Chick-Fil-A sponsored and provided lunch for the three-day event
  • Play Higher FC generously gave us access to their fields provided by Saddleback Church for us to utilize and provided volunteer coaches

The Matthew Hoppe Foundation sponsored several teams and players by providing Nike Soccer Balls

  • AC Brea Soccer Team
  • Play Higher FC
  • JUSA
  • First Strike Soccer
  • MVLASJ Soccer Club
  • Boys and Girls Club

The Matthew Hoppe Foundation financially sponsored

  • Play Higher FC to support their vision of expanding to Brazil and their local soccer community
  • JUSA to support players needing assistance with their registration fees

The Foundation also partnered with Play Higher FC to sponsor the local community through events featuring Teqball Soccer, EAFC Gaming tournaments, and Street Soccer Tournaments.

Our hope is not only to grow soccer into the largest sport in the United States, but also to provide a place for youth to grow in their skills and abilities and to provide a path for their future.

Our upcoming vision for the next year is to begin soccer camps in North Orange County.  We plan to meet with individual players to access what they need to improve upon, develop and implement drills and training to assist them with this development and provide recommended drills for them to practice daily to increase their skills and abilities.  We also plan on providing education for players who are seeking to play in college or professionally so that they can have success and achieve their dreams.  We want to provide what is needed in the soccer community for those who are economically challenged. Whether it be sports equipment, assistance with registration fees or support for our partners to provide food resources. We want to make a positive impact on the community. We hope that you will partner with us on attaining our vision.

Matthew Hoppe desire to help others achieve their dreams and to give back to the community is why the Matthew Hoppe Foundation was established. Starting in July of 2022, we actively began to work on the basis of the Foundation to establish it. We are excited to announce that we hosted our first soccer camp in early June with approximately 120 campers. Everything just supernaturally came together. We had many volunteers and friends who helped us with the different soccer drills and skills development along with those who helped us set up, prepare and close after each day. Justice who is part of Play Higher FC’s nonprofit provided the field. Chick-Fil-A provided lunch for all three days. We were even blessed by extra photos by the Kiang Family along and T-shirts provided at wholesale from WhoJungWoo. Through all the support we were able to provide not only the soccer camp, but T-shirts, Nike soccer balls and water bottles and memories.

Matthew when interviewed by Orange County Register, best stated his desire for the next generation and the community: “Right now, we are just trying to get the name (of his nonprofit) out, but we want to find just any way to help impact the community, whether it be through food drives or different donations or camps like this,” Hoppe said. “I just want to have a few camps a year hopefully and find different ways to expand and find ways to help more people.”

Our goal is bigger than just supporting young athletes to reach their highest potential on and off the field. We envision more than that for our outreach. We want to help children who love soccer find the right paths for their long term goals personally and professional. Help direct them with our experience and knowledge of what we encountered and paths that can help them achieve that. This will include skills based soccer programs, analytics to establish where they need improvement, drill programs to improve in their areas of weakness to start with. We realize each child is more than just soccer too. That is why we are looking to grow more in these areas with expansion into helping them in other areas of their lives to include after school programs, food for those in need and help for those who are struggling with learning. We realize that this is a long term goals for the organization.
We hope to achieve our vision as we begin to develop more programs and begin our fundraising efforts here in the near future to bring all of this to pass. We hope that you will consider the Matthew Hoppe Foundation to achieve its goals.
