We’re thrilled to share that we recently hosted our first-ever street soccer event right here in Yorba Linda—and it was a blast! The energy, joy, and pure love of the game were on full display as kids took to the asphalt for an evening of fun, creativity, and connection.
This marks the beginning of something special: monthly Street Soccer Nights at Church of Grace in Yorba Linda. We’re especially honored to have had Matthew Hoppe—U.S. Men’s National Team forward and current player for SønderjyskE in Denmark—join us for the first two events. His participation and connection to the community have helped inspire the next generation of players. And yes, as one parent noted, “It felt just like watching the kids play in Brazil—just plain fun.” Fittingly, Matthew has even played street soccer with kids during his visit to Brazil—talk about full circle!
Why Street Soccer?
Street soccer isn’t just a game—it’s a movement. It’s raw, joyful, and open to all. Here’s what makes it so powerful:
Freedom to try out new skills with no pressure
No expectations—just come as you are
Make new friends in a casual, welcoming environment
A fun way to stay active and develop lifelong physical skills
Non-contact and safe for all experience levels
Teaches balance, coordination, and quick thinking
Builds teamwork, adaptability, and communication
Helps develop concentration, confidence, and resilience
Encourages creativity and expression without fear of failure
Boosts social confidence by learning to interact with a variety of people
We’re excited to be expanding into North Orange County, sharing the love of the game and building a vibrant, inclusive community where kids can thrive through play.
Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming Street Soccer Nights—we’d love to see you there!
